Stephen King’s new time travel novel, ’11/22/63′ announced

Those who read this blog know I’m a King fan, and he’s just announced his new book, 11/22/63, which should be out in September.  Clocking in at about a thousand pages, it’s the story of a high school English teacher who finds a time portal to 1958 and sets out to stop the assassination of President Kennedy.

Considering the late 1950s are King’s old, familiar stomping grounds, I expect this book will be a really good read.  It also has a bit of a Dead Zone feel to it; a man with knowledge of the future is trying to prevent a tragedy.

  1. I am really excited to see what King does with this concept. It does have a Dead Zone feel to the idea, but it also made me think of the novella Hearts in Atlantis (from the linked story collection of the same name). I think King has A LOT more to say about that era, and this is the book where he’s going to do it!
