According to the hypothesis of Dr. Hans-Ulrich Niemitz, it’s currently 1714, not 2011. That sounds crazy, but there may be something to his idea. It’s well known that the calendar underwent a number of revisions in the middle ages, the largest being in 1582 when Pope Gregory XIII threw ten days out of the calendar! Is it possible that either through manipulation or simple error, 300 years of history simply never happened?
